Luke 10:25-37 tells of the story of the Good Samaritan. This story tells you a different story about love. Have you ever seen someone get beat up on the road and you just pretended not to see anything? How can you be a better neighbor to people to everybody?

Leave

What is God calling you to leave in 2025? It’s already 2026 but you are still holding onto those things from 2025? Busyness? Fake friends? Sometimmes, the people who know God the most reflect Him the least. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.”

Overcome

Be like the Samaritan. The samaritan did not just feel bad. He stopped and used up his time. He touches the wounds and uses his own supplies to help. He puts the man on his donkey and gives up his own comfort. he takes him into an inn and pays with his own money. And he also promises to follow up and spend more. He does all of this out of his own free will and generosity. God does not ask you to give what you do not have. What God is looking for is your heart to do even the tiniest things for Him.

Victorious

To be victorious, you have to pass the test. Use your money and resources inn the proper way. Be good stewards of God’s blessings. Obey God right away. Look beyond people and love even your enemies. Amentations 3:22-23 says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His meries never come to an end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Everlasting

This lasts for a long time. It is never ending and will last until eternity.

If you continue to be bad neighbors, the following will happen:

  • The environment will not be safe.

  • Many people will continuously die.

  • People will always be fighting.

  • Fires will be rampant.

  • Everybody will be gossiping.

  • The community will be chaotic.

On the other hand, if you become good neighbors to each other,…

  • The community will be safe to live in.

  • The crime rate will be low.

  • There will be no police raids.

  • Accident rates will be low.

  • People will get along with each other.

  • They will not gossip about one another.

  • There will be discipline and respect int he community.

We are the wounded man in the story - robbed, beaten to death, wounded and helpless. And Jesus is the good samaritan. He picked us up - came down and helped us. John 6:38 says, “Foor I have come down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of who sent me.” Before you can become the samaritan, you need to be wounded as well. He has call you to do something. Will you obey?
