Masakit ang Walang Helmet: Wear the Helmet of Salvation

By Brother Myles Tan

Nowadays, everybody is wearing a face mask and shield to protect yourself from the virus. It is eminent! When riding a motorcycle, it is required that you wear a helmet. Why? Because before your body can work, every action comes from your brain which is in your head.

SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:17 says “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Honor God the Father - Matthew 19:25-26 says “When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” There is nothing impossible with God. Be glad that you have a heavenly dad who is happy that you are here. Psalm 23 says The Lord is my shepherd, I shall lack nothing. Because of this, you know that no matter what happens, God will take care of you. This pandemic saw many people without work and more without the means to provide for themselves. But since you are God’s children, be at peace and know that He will provide for you. Where does worry begin? In the head. Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” When trials come, your faith will be tested. So you have to be grounded in God’s word. Everybody is looking for love in all the wrong places. But only Jesus can fulfill and fill you. Look to Him.

Your father on earth might fail you, but your Father who is in heaven will never disappoint.

Deuteronomy 31: 8 says “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Eliminate negative thoughts - Romans 12:2 says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” God always has a plan for your life and you can make sure that it is best for you. When you put on the helmet of salvation, you can avoid sinful thoughts and understand what is good and true. When you think God has forgotten you, you might have just forgotten who God is because you are not wearing your helmet. Not all Christians wear their helmets. Sometimes, your helmet is full of garbage. What should protect your head is filled with the lies of the enemy. And when your helmet is filled with negative thoughts, you cannot wear it properly anymore. It simply will not fit and you are not fully protected. Focus on the word of God. A negative mind cannot give you a positive life.

Adjust your approach - 1 Samuel 17:45 says, “David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” David put his trust in his Father in heaven and not on people here on earth. If you obey God, you will reach your destiny. Luke 11:48 says, “He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Stop believing the lies of the enemy. Replace the negative thoughts in your head with the word of God.

Delight yourself in the Lord - Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Your hearts should be aligned with His, of course. Trust in the Lord, do good, and He will give you your hearts’ desires.

Sometimes, satan wants to break in your mind while Jesus wants you to break out of your mind. You have mindsets that need to be broken. You have to get out of your old ways to experience a breakthrough. Remove the negative words in your head so that you are ready for a breakthrough when it comes.
