There is bad news: all people are guilty of sun. Romans 3:10 says, “No one is righteous, not even one. Romans 3:23 also says, “For everyone has sinned, we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” The law teaches us how to behave and man performed.
The good news: God made a way! Romans 3:21 says, “But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.”
GRACE. God’s riches at Christ’s expense. It is unearned, undeserved, and unmerited favor from God. Where does grace come from? What is grace?
Grace is the nature of God. It is who God is. It is His character. Exodus 34;6 says, “And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” Before the cross, the law and even before creation, God was already gracious.
Grace was manifested through Jesus Christ. Romans 3:24 says, “and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” John 1:17 also says, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
Jesus is the visible expression of God’s grace; living, breathing, forgiving.
Grace was activated through the cross. Romans 3:25 says, “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—”
The cost of grace was paid in blood so we could freely receive it. Jesus paid for it all.
Grace is accessed through faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Roman 3:26 says “he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” We are declared righteous by faith, bot effort. Everyone, regardless of background, can ccess grace. Righteousness is not about being good enough. It is about believing in the one who is - Jesus. That is when everything changes.
Grace is empowered by the Holy Spirit. Acts 4:33 says, “With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.” This is our daily power that makes us choose not to sin and walk in freedom. Grace is not just forgiveness; it’s for transformation.
Grace leads us back to God’s heart. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” The purpose of grace is not just for salvation - it’s for relationship. Grace makes a way for us to walk with God again.
How to Live in God’s Grace
Receive. Don’t strive. Grace is a gift and not a reqard. Stop trying to earn God’s love and rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Romans 11:6 says, “And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.”
Stay connected to Jesus. He is the source of grace. Read His word daily, talk to Him honestly in prayer and worship from a heart knowing that you are loved by Him. John 25:5 says, “For apart from me, you can do nothing.”
Repent quickly and receive freely. God’s grace doesn’t disappear when you fail. Don’t hide in shame. Come to God openly and receive fresh mercy. Failuer doesn’t end your story - grace rewrites it. Romans 5:20 says, “But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.”
Let grace empower you. Do not make it an excuse. Grace doesn’t make you lazy; it makes you holy. It allows us to say no to sin because we are kow set freebbaerve and love because grace is working in you. You’re teying to be good and you are becoming who God says you are. Titus 2:11-12 says, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”
Extend grace to others. What you have received, give it away. Forgive freely and be patient with others. Love unconditionally too. You become like Jesus when you show grace. Matthew 10:8 says, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”
The grace of God is so beautiful. You can experience it everyday by walking with Jesus. You are not yet there but you’ve come a long way. It’s His grace alone that empowers us.
