Hosea 11:1, “When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.”

Israel was brought out of Egypt, of their “comfort” zone, so they could come to the Promised Land and fulfill God’s will for them. Jesus was brought out of his simple life to fulfill his Father’s plan to save mankind. All of us will soon be brought out of our own self-built safe zones if God says so. It is not to put a burden on us or persecute us but so we can fulfill His plan for us and experience His blessings.

Here are some pointers on how to leave your comfort zone so you can fulfill God’s will for you:

1.) Connect with God – First thing is to stop giving excuses. Maybe the reason why you cannot experience God’s fullness is that you don’t make an effort to connect with Him. Give time for prayer, open your Bible and read the Word.

2.) Don’t confuse stepping out with recklessness – There will be instances wherein we will think that our risky actions are instructions from God. But never confuse your reckless actions with God’s instructions because not all of your “stepping-out” is what really God wants you to do.

3.) Don’t be afraid to do things differently – Since we settled with our safe zones, we never tried to look at a different perspective. We dealt with everything in the same manner but God’s way is better than our way. To get out of your comfort zone, don’t hesitate to be up for a change.

4.) Don’t let fear and responsibilities stop you – Lead, disciple, evangelize if you must. God is always with you to back you up so don’t let your fear intervene. Don’t be afraid to responsibilities that may occur because in those situations you will experience God’s provision and guidance towards His plan for you.
