In the Greek alphabet, the first and last letter is the Alpha and Omega, which means the beginning and the end. While in the Bible, Lord God said that He is the Alpha and the Omega. What’s in it for us if He said that He is the Alpha and Omega? What is the relevance of it in our lives?

Revelation 1:8  “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

Here in our message today, we will further grasp the idea of God being the Alpha and Omega. What does it mean if Jesus said that He is the Alpha and Omega? Why do we need to know that He is the beginning and the end? Let’s find out.

We always thought of who is stronger, Jesus or God the Father? What we don’t know is Jesus is equally powerful with God because He is the Son of God and He is made appointed to be the next in throne. Everything was made and created through Him because He is the Son of God and eventually everything will also end in His command. So if we want to talk to God, we should talk to Jesus, with Him and only through Him.

Hebrews 1:1-3 “Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets.  And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe.  The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.”

Now, if Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, then what? How can we use it to change the way we live? Here are some points that can affect our lives if we honor that Jesus is the beginning and the end.

God Knows – He is there from creation and He will be there ‘til the end as stated in the Bible. You can assure that He knew everything about you from the start. God knows what happened, happening and will happen to you. So you cannot say that Jesus doesn’t know your situation because He is concern about you and He knows what you have been through. You can assure that God knows, so keep in mind that God sees what is happening to you so take this chance to let Him witness that what you are doing is all for Him.

He has the final say – Once or twice in our lives, we have things that put to an end just because some or even us ourselves thought that’s the best thing to do. But what we don’t know, Only Jesus can say what should be the ending of our lives. He can do anything through His word just like how He can bail out from dying but then again, He loves us so much that He faced His purpose and chose to die in order to save us. So don’t let anyone tell you to stop or that you cannot succeed in life because God will always have the final say in your life.

Matthew 26:52-53 “Put away your sword,” Jesus told him. “Those who use the sword will die by the sword.  Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?”

We can trust Him – He is everywhere. How? Because Jesus is beyond time. He isn’t limited by space, nor He is from future because there isn’t such thing as time for Jesus. So if you think of it, when we are in our hopeless times, then there comes Jesus everything becomes fine. He knows everything about us because He is beyond time and space. He’s the only one who has that kind of ability, so if everyone has given up on you, you can trust that God has not given up on you and He is the only one you can fully trust yourself with.

There are two things we should ask ourselves. First is, if Jesus is the Alpha, do we put Him first in our lives? And if He is the Omega, does He have the final say in our lives? Sometimes we tend to take back our promise to put Him first because of some unnecessary things we prioritize first. What we should do is to continuously praise Him and put Him first before everything then surrender everything to Him and let Him have the final say and live our lives not worrying about anything for we are under the guidance of the Alpha and Omega.
